Jim Crigler is a partner in Crigler, LeBeau & Sumrall. He began his legal career in 1973. He works at the office in Monroe, LA and on Wednesdays from Lake Providence, LA. Jim provides legal services in the following areas:
Jim advises clients in obtaining and maintaining eligibility for a variety for farm programs. This may include selection and creation of appropriate business entities, advice on proper operation of farm enterprises and representation in administrative appeals and federal court.
He advises governmental entities on a variety of issues including governance, transactions, employment, eminent domain and leasing.
Jim represents producers and agri-businesses in the creation and operation of various types of business entities including corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships.
He represents lenders and borrowers in transactions involving the sale of farm, recreational and commercial property. He works with the firm-owned title insurance company to offer title insurance to owners and lenders. Jim represents landlords and tenants in the negotiation and drafting of agricultural and commercial leases.
Estate and Probate
Jim assists farm families and others with planning designed to preserve family assets for the next generation. He also handles probate and other succession proceedings.
